About Theodor
In my career as an educator, I've engaged in various forms of cooperation with individual scholars and educational organizations that share similar values and goals. This is particularly evident in my initiative with Casa Paleologu in Bucharest, Romania, a unique enterprise that co-founded, with a focus on adult education reminiscent of Enlightenment "salons," fostering friendly courses and erudite discussions. My teaching path has not been limited to conventional institutions; I have always had a soft spot for unconventional, experimental, and interdisciplinary teaching environments. This includes experiences at Deep Springs College in California and the European College of Liberal Arts in Berlin (now Bard College Berlin), where I embraced a less traditional approach to education. Despite these forays, I have also contributed to the academic traditions of more established universities, such as the University of Copenhagen, the University of Bucharest, and the Academy for Economic Studies in Bucharest. The revelation of my personal teaching style and philosophy came in 1999-2000, thanks to an anonymous student's comment in a teaching evaluation at Boston College. Stated as "the funniest professor on campus" during my time as a visiting lecturer in an exchange program with the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris, I discovered my affinity for Michael de Montaigne's educational ideal, an approach that emphasized "all feast and fun." This comment shaped my teaching ethos, promising students classes that are "happy, even playful." It was at the age of 26 that I found my true calling for teaching, marking the beginning of a journey that has since taken me through a tapestry of educational environments, methodologies, and philosophies.

Acești doi oameni entuziaști, Ileana Negruțiu și Joshua Pandele au găsit de cuviință să ducă mai departe ceva ce am început în 2015 împreună cu Ioana Prândurel. Se numește „Cum creștem lideri români?” și este un program dedicat adolescenților. Pe Nicolae Drăgușin îl cunosc de pe vremea cînd predam la Berlin. Între timp, a devenit doctor în filozofie, cercetător și autorul volumului „Totul nou pe frontul anticorupției", apărut la Humanitas, o carte despre criza anticorupției din 2017–2019, separația puterilor și nevoia unui reglaj constituțional fin. Îl interesează felul în care ideile, instituțiile și regulile juridice se întîlnesc în istoria politică.
