The roast
Stewart Gandolf claims to be a healthcare growth expert, yet he posts 33 times a month just to keep 16,000 people from remembering they never wanted to follow him. With an engagement rate that makes a cardiac arrest look like a spike in activity, his only successful medical intervention is making his own content terminal.
About Stewart
I’m the CEO of Healthcare Success, an enterprise healthcare growth and marketing agency built on more than 30 years in the industry and 1,500+ client engagements.I started in healthcare marketing back when most organizations weren’t marketing at all. Those early years taught me how healthcare markets actually behave—how patients and referring physicians make decisions, how trust and perception shape those decisions long before anyone books an appointment, and why organizations that lead with human behavior consistently outperform those that lead with tactics alone. In 2006, I co‑founded Healthcare Success around a simple premise: the most durable competitive advantage in healthcare marketing isn’t buying attention; it’s earning trust. Since then, our team has helped enterprise‑level healthcare organizations navigate growth, transformation, and increasing complexity across virtually every sector of healthcare.Today, Healthcare Success partners with multi‑location medical groups, behavioral health and addiction treatment providers, hospitals and health systems, PE‑backed platforms, telehealth and digital health companies, medical device and D2C health brands, healthcare SaaS, and other complex healthcare enterprises nationwide. Our work spans:- Competitive market repositioning and brand strategy- Patient acquisition and consumer engagement at scale- Physician and referral network development- Healthcare SEO and AI‑era search visibility- Website strategy, UX, and conversion optimization- Growth strategy for PE‑backed and enterprise healthcare organizationsAlong the way, I’ve spoken at more than 200 industry venues and contributed to outlets including Forbes, Modern Healthcare, the Wall Street Journal, Medscape/WebMD, and the AMA. I also host the Healthcare Success Podcast, where I interview leaders at the intersection of healthcare growth, consumer behavior, and digital transformation. If you’re leading a healthcare organization and want a partner who understands your world at a strategic level—not just another vendor—I’m always open to a conversation.

Today, Brandon Schakola and I will be presenting When AI Gets It Wrong: Fixing the Invisible Front Door to Your Health System as part of SHSMD's certificate course, AI's Impact on the Future of Health Care Digital Strategy. Healthcare organizations have spent years optimizing websites, search visibility, reviews, and digital experiences. Yet many have not examined a growing source of influence on patient decision-making: what AI systems say about their organization. If someone asked ChatGPT about your health system today, would you trust the answer? In this session, we'll discuss why AI ina

One of my favorite moments from this conversation with Matt Hall is the discussion you're about to see. As healthcare organizations grow through acquisitions, leaders constantly wrestle with the tension between standardization and local autonomy. Get it wrong, and you can lose the very culture and community relationships that made an organization successful in the first place. Matt has lived this challenge from the inside at Pacific Dental Services, Platinum Dermatology Partners, and now Smile Brands, so his perspective comes from years of real-world experience—not theory. Of course, that's

What is ChatGPT saying about your organization? That's the question I've been thinking about lately. We've spent years helping healthcare organizations become easier to find online. AI hasn't changed that objective—but it has introduced a new challenge. Increasingly, AI is explaining healthcare organizations before patients ever visit their websites. That means every healthcare organization already has an AI representative. The only problem? You didn't hire it. One of the biggest conclusions I reached while writing this article is that AI doesn't invent your reputation. It reveals it.
