The roast
Steve Roest claims to be the CEO of a fast-growing HealthTech company, but with a 0.32% engagement rate, he is the only chronic condition PocDoc hasn't managed to diagnose. He is basically the digital equivalent of a blood pressure cuff that only tells you your heart is asleep.
About Steve
I am the CEO and co-founder of PocDoc, one of the fastest growing HealthTech businesses in the UK. PocDoc's mission is to find, screen for and prevent chronic diseases like Cardiovascular Disease, Type 2 Diabetes and Chronic Kidney Disease from putting millions of people at risk of early death and overwhelming healthcare systems. My passion for this mission comes from a very personal place - when I was 14, my father had a stroke due to undiagnosed Cardiovascular Disease. It was a catastrophic event that had huge ramifications for him and us as a family - and continues to this day. PocDoc's Healthy Heart Check has been used thousands of times across every part of the UK to deliver an NHS equivalent Health Check in Communities, Workplaces and at home - in 10 minutes, without needing to visit the GP. PocDoc has raised record Seed funding for our sector in the UK from the leading investors in UK HealthTech, including the only NHS-anchored Venture Capital fund. PocDoc was incubated in the NHS and works with the NHS across the country, screening thousands of patients in community, workplaces and home. I sit on two NHS Advisory Boards that support SMEs and increasing diversity in the NHS ecosystem. For PocDoc media enquiries, please email pocdoc@threesixty.co. HealthTech Hour The HealthTech Hour showcases the best CEOs, founders, clinicians, investors, frontline workers and journalists that are changing the face of healthcare and share stories that don't get mainstream media coverage. Now over 100 episodes with over 300,000 streams per month from people in over 50 countries, it is one of the largest HealthTech podcasts in Europe. Previous notable guests include Lottie Whyte, Dr Hazel Wallace (the Food Medic), Amber Vodegel, Dr Sara Kayat, Matt Hancock and Ali Parsa, among many others. The show is rated 5 stars on all platforms and consistently is in the Top 100 for its category. For HealthTech Hour enquiries, please contact arthur.perkins@threesixty.co Last Friday Club On the last Friday of every month I give up my time to speak to anyone about any business issue - for free, no strings, no agenda, just a safe space. We're launching the second season of this based on the amazing success of season 1, with multiple companies securing funding following their calls with me. I have deep expertise in early stage startups, fundraising, healthtech, sales/commercial and health - and that's what I write about here. Information about the Last Friday Club is on my LinkedIn.

Just because holiday started doesn’t mean my brain got switched off… Let’s call this the Easyjet version of “A Beautiful Mind” 🤓 Joking aside, I find it really hard to switch off. I find it impossible if I don’t get all my thoughts out and onto paper before the holiday starts. Hope everyone has a great break as and when it arrives! 😎 (And yes I took the post it notes with me 🤣)

As predicted our recent set of upgrades improved clinical performance even further. Our latest independent NHS accuracy results prove it. NEQAS is the NHS' highest level of clinical accuracy verification. It's normally reserved for manufacturers of major lab testing machines - Roche, Abbott etc. We fought hard to get onto it and we're proud we are. Especially with results like this. NEQAS is an ongoing programme with manufacturers testing blind blood samples and reporting results back to NEQAS, who publish a certificate like this. (Full disclosure, their certificates don't come wit

CVD prevention is scaling but it still doesn't reach all the communities it needs to. That's why we have launched 100x100. The 100x100 Programme: 100 Community screening projects funded, 100 patients screened - every year, for free. Over 10 years, that's 100,000 patients screened in key communities that are under-served. Completely for free. Prevention is all about rising tides raising all ships and commitment to the mission above all else. 100x100 feels to me like a natural extension of what we're already doing across the UK with the NHS and Community Pharmacy. Anyone can apply,
