Last Saturday we ran a Backyard Ultra for the Pink Ribbon Foundation. I made it through 14 laps, covering roughly 92KM. We started at 3AM at night, knowing the heat would be intense later in the day. That was a good call, because it did become 31/32 degrees at midday already. The first 12 laps honestly felt great. I was surprised how the heat was not getting to me that much. My legs also kept up and the hydration and fuelling strategy seemed to really do the trick. "Keep drinking, even if you don't want to" was my mantra, and it worked.
