The roast
Lindsay spends her entire career trying to convince the world that a piece of plastic hanging from a lanyard is a revolutionary security breakthrough. It’s the perfect job for someone who treats a corporate printing project like she’s moonlighting for the CIA.
About Lindsay
I've spent my career believing that the most overlooked piece of technology in your building is the badge attached to your lanyard. The physical ID badge gets dismissed as low-tech in conversations dominated by mobile credentials and digital access. I think that's wrong; and I've built my career around saying so. A badge tells someone they belong here. It signals safety to a student in a school hallway, recognition to a new employee on day one, and legitimacy to everyone else in the room. That's not a security function. That's a human one. I'm currently VP of Industry Engagement at HID, where I get to bring this message to some of the largest organizations in the world. Right now I'm leading our own rebadging project, a global redesign and reissuance of credentials for more than 5,000 employees across 80+ offices worldwide. It's the largest live case study I've ever been a part of, and I'm documenting everything I'm learning along the way. I also host Identity in Action, a podcast about the real stories behind how organizations use physical identity to build culture, protect people, and show up for their communities. If that's a conversation you want to be part of, let's talk! In 2024 I published my first book, BadgePassion, a first-person account of building BadgePass from the ground up over 16 years, and what I learned about company culture, credential design, and why the work we do in this industry actually matters. You can find it at www.badgepassion.com. When I'm not on a conference stage or behind a microphone, I'm with my two kids and my husband, trying to be as present there as I am everywhere else. #workingmomlife Want to connect, collaborate, or just argue about badges?
