The roast
Laura claims to have a crush on marketing, which makes sense, because her entire LinkedIn persona is just an expensive, high-budget way of begging them to do her job for her. She keeps bragging about scaling Dreamdata from zero to ten million, yet her engagement rate is stuck at a lonely 0.17 percent. She’s the only salesperson in history who managed to move from Lithuania to New York just to realize she’s still functionally invisible.
About Laura
I’m a Sales Leader with a crush on Marketing. The headline needs context, because I have not always been having that crush.- Moved from Corporate Sales to Startup SalesIt was the hardest move and the hardest job I have ever had and the most proud one of my career. - Moved the 0$ revenue startup to $10M and still not stopping. This one requires a lot of context as this progress does not happen by single contributors. This sounds fantastic as a tagline, but trust me, it was hard and I appreciate every team member who worked this hard to continue crushing it at Dreamdata! - Moved from Account Executive to a Sales Director role. During this process I absolutely fell in love with Marketing and appreciate the hard work they bring in every day for Sales to move those opportunities through the pipeline to final Revenue. Sales and Marketing alignment is my passion.- Moved from Lithuania to Denmark and then to New YorkEvery country brought the best life learnings. Post Soviet ambition in Lithuania, respect for community and collaboration in Denmark and never stopping ambition in New York. These moves shaped me more as a person than any job will ever do. Overall, I am a recovering Post Soviet kid, workaholic mother of 2 daughters trying to balance parenthood, career and quirky weekend hobbies including painting, drinking Italian wine and extending the circle of my network (yes, it is a hobby).

Planday knew marketing was generating leads, but couldn’t see was which channels were actually driving revenue. Budget decisions were based on instinct. When leadership starts asking questions, instinct is difficult to trust on. With Dreamdata, they now have a complete view of their customer journey, so every budget decision can be traced back to real deals instead of assumptions. So much more confidence in the conversations they are having with leadership, with numbers they can stake your reputation on. So proud of the team and Melisa Hansen 🎉 I’ll share the full story in the comment

A reverse Uno card finally happened on me. 7 years ago when I was an Enterprise AE at a very Enterprise company this tactic used to work. I was doing a 3 step sequence: 1. Personalized email 2. Linkedin 3. Cold calendar invite I was selling to C level and VPs in the most known Danish Enterprises. I was doing research on them for at least an hour before the Email. Once they reached step 3 of my sequence, 60% of people accepted the invite. Very bold and it worked because it was before total spam and because we had the brand recognition, so most of the people wanted to meet someone from th

Apparently 2 people climbed the Empire State Building today. Sounds difficult, time-consuming and expensive, yikes. It reminded me of companies attempting to build a multi-touch attribution model on their own, equally as difficult, time-consuming, and expensive. Yiana M. captured their stunt today. Anything is possible in NYC.
