The roast
Lauren Goodell spent ten years at Salesforce learning how to memorize a buyer’s dog's name just to close a deal, and she’s turned that entire career into a consulting business teaching other people how to be just as psychopathic. Her "human-first" approach is just a glorified manual for weaponized small talk.
About Lauren
What if your sales team could consistently close more deals without losing the human connection?.We’re entering a world where buyers are flooded with AI-generated emails, automated outreach, and templated messaging. Everyone has access to the same tools. Very few know how to still sound (and actually be) human. That’s the work I do.I founded Sell with Goodell to help revenue teams navigate the intersection of AI, sales, and human connection through keynotes, workshops, advisory, and GTM consulting. Before this, I spent nearly a decade selling complex enterprise deals at Microsoft and Salesforce, where I learned something early: The biggest deals were won because the buyer felt understood.I knew the name of my buyer's dogs. I knew how the CFO was compensated. I knew the companies biggest initiatives and how we could help. I knew whether or not they would appreciate my jokes. The companies winning right now are the ones using AI to create more space for better thinking, stronger relationships, and more intentional customer experiences.Through Keynotes, Workshops, and Advisory, I work with companies, leadership teams, and conferences on topics like:• Human-first selling in an AI world• AI for sales productivity and GTM teams• Modern prospecting and buyer psychology• Revenue strategy and sales transformation• Executive communication and trust-building• The future of AI + sales + humanityMy goal is to create a positive impact on the world, by empowering businesses to connect with their customers more authentically and effectively. Because at the end of the day, real human connection is the only thing that matters.

An SDR got mad at me in an AI coaching session a month ago. “Yeah but that’s not how our CRM really works.” Ok, fair point. I asked her to pull up a real account, her real top prospect, and we rebuilt the workflow live, inside her real data. 20 minutes later she had an account brief she took into a QBR. She had a project built for alllll future QBRs. To make it click, it was all about applying it to a real account in context. Join us live, with your own accounts, own workflows, and own data. Figure out your accounts and your deals in our 6-week cohort. Starting July 21! https://lnkd.i

I’ve sat through a handful of AI training sessions in the past year. All spent like 90% of the time on prompts. “Write better prompts.” “Here are five prompt frameworks.” Sure, ok fine. BUT none asked 'what does your workflow look like today?' Where does research happen? How does outreach get written? What does deal prep look like the night (or minute) before a big call? Where the heck do you put AI if you don’t know where things happen? Prompts are like lightbulbs… WORKFLOW is the wiring. Let’s build babyyy! What’s the AI training you’ve been through that actually changed how you wor

No My fave thing to ask reps when I start coaching a new team: “Show me how you prep for a call.” Most open a fresh chatgpt chat. Type: Tell me about xyz Read the response. Close the tab. No context. No ICP. No call history. NO PERSONAL ANECDOTES. ☠️ The best magic trick is when I show them what the response looks like when we’ve spent like 15 min setting up a project. What your buyer actually cares about. How you position your service. Your (hyper specific) ICP. The reps who are winning are building the foundation before relying on AI. And most importantly (!!!!) they are adding the
