Every week I get in a room with the sales team in Waltham, everyone else on Zoom, and I teach them how I sell. ZoomInfo’s first customer was a guy called Jerry Jewell, the SVP of Sales at Comsys, a publicly traded IT staffing firm. When he sent us our first $8,500 payment, I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT! This was December 2007 and we had spent the first 6 months just building the product. Me and my co-founder, Kirk, would get up early in the morning and call companies on Skype asking them who ran their IT departments, what their phone numbers were, what their emails were.
