About Alyona
I never planned to become a founder. I spent most of my life as a CFO — building models, analyzing numbers, and helping businesses grow. I loved it. Still do. But in 2019, something shifted. I built a simple Google Sheets MVP to help my first customer (Petcube, YC’18) understand their finances better. Five months later, they were profitable. A year later, that client became my co-founder. That’s how Fuel started. Today, Fuel is a financial management platform paired with a real CFO. We manage over $500M in customer P&Ls. We’ve grown from a no-code MVP to a full web platform used by hundreds of businesses. Week 4/12 of building the new Fuelfinance in public. This week, results came back from our first 3 customers using finance agents. Two of them I expected, the third one I didn’t. Basically, 3 customers signed up to rebuild their finance function around finance agents taking over some manual parts of the work. And the crazy thing is, one customer, after 6 weeks, told us we can take a full person's workload off their finance team. $100-130K of capacity. 2 new Claude updates you need to know if you're implementing AI in finance: 1/ Opus 5 is out. And it's the one to use (half the cost of Fable!). It's now the default on Claude Max and the strongest model on Claude Pro. It matches Anthropic's frontier model, Fable 5, on most knowledge-work and coding benchmarks. At half the cost per task. I built a Claude skill that lets you simulate your company's cash on a playground. Every CEO asks the same question, usually right before a board meeting: "what happens to our cash if we..." Cut this. Add two hires. Raise in July instead of September. And then they ask you. So you crack open the master model, spend half a day making a version safe to hand over, and pray nobody breaks a formula. A playground ends that. It's a flight simulator for your cash.
