The roast
Alex Boyd built a tool to make posting on social media painless, which explains why he’s posted 14 times in a month to an audience of 30,000 who collectively couldn’t be bothered to engage. DemandBird is the perfect name for his company, because like a pigeon in a public square, he’s mostly just making noise until someone throws him a scrap of attention.
About Alex
Create, schedule, repurpose, and publish across all social platforms. Start a free trial today → demandbird.com (Do you run a social media agency? DM me to ask about our partner program. It's juicy.) More about what I'm building below 👇 Over the last decade, I've built and exited multiple companies. Social media has been at the core of the growth of my own brand as a founder, and of the company brands I've helped scale. I feel blessed and privileged now to be the co-founder of DemandBird.com (a Wildfront portfolio product). What are we building and why? Well, most social media tools are a pain to use. They're either built for stale corporate workflows (like pushing blog posts that nobody reads to your sales teams' profiles), they're over-priced, they don't have an AI-native MCP and/or API, or all of the above. So, while I want to bring the power of scaling social media to more businesses, I also recognize the insidious hamster wheel effect of total burnout that trying to scale social without a good system, can become. That's where DemandBird comes in. We're starting with tackling the scheduling and publishing problem: making it painless, easy, and fun to create and repurpose content, maintain a media library, and schedule and publish cross-platform. As we grow, we're going to release social listening and analytics features, plus some growth features (for the platforms that have APIs that will allow for things like engagement feeds and list building). That's the mission. If you've bought a product of mine before, you know: we start small and build from there. We treasure every customer, with amazing and high-quality support. We don't take shortcuts. I hope to be able to serve you this year! Thank you, Alex

DemandBird had a NEGATIVE -5.4% revenue churn rate in August. AKA, expansion revenue outweighed the few cancellations we had. Which makes sense: we're mostly talking to teams and agencies with rather than small/new creators. They have defined business processes and needs vs fluctuating desires to try new tools. And our pricing lends itself well to starting small and expanding with us as their business and team expand. I don't know that we can keep this going every month, but whereas Aware was a relatively high-ish churn product (selling primarily to creators, with teams being more of an aft

v1 of image generation is now in DemandBird! Yes, I have used it many times to generate pictures of birds in different style during QA testing. But you can also make: → infographics → diagrams → photos → carousels Carousels are made more deterministically: the background, logo, headshot, page numbers, and stuff like that are hard-set per slide, and you set the number of slides. That way it doesn't go all nutty GenAI on you and make stuff you weren't expecting. But with generating photos, isn't that creativity/randomness kind of what you want? Will post more example media and workflows soon
