The roast
Adam Stoker has spent 45 posts in the last month trying to convince the tourism industry he owns the media, yet he’s currently averaging a 0.23% engagement rate. That’s not a content strategy; that’s a persistent telemarketer trying to sell extended warranties to a locked front door.
About Adam
Most destination marketers are stuck renting attention -- paying for ads, chasing algorithms, and hoping their message breaks through the noise. I help them build something they actually own.As CEO of Brand Revolt, I lead a team that partners with destinations and tourism organizations to develop owned media strategies that cultivate engaged, loyal audiences. We don't just run campaigns -- we build brands that attract attention on their own terms.I also host the Destination Marketing Podcast, where I sit down with industry leaders to unpack what's actually working in tourism marketing today. With hundreds of episodes and listeners worldwide, it's become one of the go-to resources for destination marketers looking to sharpen their strategy.I wrote the book on it -- literally. My book, Touchpoints, is a practical roadmap for destination marketers to create memorable and effective brand experiences that drive real results. And because this industry needed a better way to connect, I co-founded TourismIQ -- a community platform where destination marketers share insights, find jobs, and stay on top of what's happening across the industry.I speak regularly at conferences including Destinations International, state tourism conferences, and industry summits. If you'd like me to speak at your event, reach out to kristina@thebrandrevolt.com.Let's connect -- whether you want to grow your destination's brand, explore a partnership, or just talk shop about the future of tourism marketing.

When I launched DMO Jam, R. Lee Davis reached out to me and asked if we could build a cohort for the intersection of destination technology, including websites, AI, data and other tools and marketing. It will be a group for marketers who want to get better with tech and technologists who want to get better at marketing. Who would like to be a part of that group? Vimal Vyas Janette Roush Who should I invite? For now, current DMO professionals only please. PS- R. Lee Davis is super cool and would be fun to be in a group with! dmojam.thebrandrevolt.com

Google is no longer the front door to your destination. AI is. When someone asks an AI assistant for 'the best weekend trip for a family that likes hiking,' your destination either gets recommended or it doesn't — and there's no paid placement to fix that. The DMOs winning this shift aren't the ones with the biggest ad budgets. They're the ones with the most original, specific, well-structured content for the models to learn from. If your content library is thin, you're invisible to a growing share of trip planning. Not ranked lower. Invisible. #DestinationMarketing #DMO #AISearch #OwnedM
