The roast
Jeremy runs Because Ventures, which is a perfect name because he definitely needs a reason to explain why he’s busy buying up Shopify apps to fix his own lack of engagement. With a 0.15% interaction rate, his newsletter Let’s Buy a Biz is currently the most expensive way to send a private email.
About Jeremy
After a 11 yrs of scaling the fastest-growing Shopify Plus Brands and Apps, it's time for me to run them. Because Ventures acquires and operates: → eCom brands ($1M-$10M EBITDA) → B2B SaaS companies ($1M-$10M ARR) We're not financial engineers. We're operators who buy bizs. What makes us different: → We actually run the playbook. Not consultants. Not advisors. We get in the weeds.→ We promote from within. Your team matters. We're scaling support that will fill gaps and accelerate growth.→ We're flexible on structure. Full exit. Partial liquidity. Growth round. Whatever makes sense.Coco AI is the 1st Acquisition in the Fund:→ WhatsApp Marketing AI Agents for $5m - $500m Shopify brands→ 7 Fig ARR biz. 2x'ing YoYWhat we look for:eCom:→ $10M-$100M topline revenue→ 50%+ DTC sales (not counting Amazon)→ <100 SKUs (ideally <25)→ Natural repeat purchase behavior→ Unique value prop, not commoditized basicsSaaS:→ $1M-$10M ARR→ 80%+ gross margins→ Ecom enablement focus (Shopify ecosystem preferred)→ No single customer >30% of revenue→ Missing a GTM function we can scale (content, outbound, partnerships)Geography: North America only (for now).We like the weird stuff. Distressed assets. Carve-outs. Odd verticals. Not interested in: Alphabet soup bizs (DEA, ATF, FDA oversight), basic apparel, anything that doesn't stand out. When I'm not living the Ecom lifestyle I'm learning Mandarin, and exploring the flavors of my kitchen. I write a weekly Public Brand Teardown newsletter + share my journey 👉: https://letsbuyabiz.beehiiv.com/subscribe

When I look back on 2026. Getting into Amazon ($2.6T) @ $200/share Will be my best investment of the year. And I've made some other good moves this year. But watching this rip another 20-30% this year. Will be the cornerstone of my portfolio. My only regret was it didn't go down more and I didn't have more money to pour in.

CoCo AI's Subscription Agent is deflecting 65-75% of churn for our beta brands!! When a customer gets their replenishment reminder WhatsApp. They can talk to an AIgent to fully manage their subscription. Edit, Swap, Skip, Delay. All through a completely live chat experience. No button prefills just the customer having a conversation. I can't tell you how popular. Skipping the next order. Swapping a simple product. Will cut that 8% churn rate down.
