The roast
Giles Tongue specializes in bundling, which makes sense because his career is just three failed startups taped together to look like a VP. He’s the only person in the UK who thinks "Digital Vending Machine" sounds like a career path rather than a reason to be committed.
About Giles
I build categories. I’m a marketing leader across B2B/B2B2C, enterprise SaaS, consumer tech, AI and FMCG. I tend to work where the product is strong but the market story is not yet sharp enough: I find the narrative, build the operating model, and turn it into demand, pipeline and revenue. At Bango, I named Super Bundling and repositioned the Digital Vending Machine® from payments infrastructure to subscription bundling leadership. That work helped grow ARR from $3M to $21M, create $25M in 2025 opportunity value, scale MQLs from 35 to 952 in 2025, and earn 88% share of voice across 2,380 Super Bundling articles. Before Bango, I helped scale tech21 from £2M to £100M as first marketing hire, taking the brand into Apple Retail worldwide. As CEO of Chatable.ai, a Mark Cuban-backed Edge AI venture, I took breakthrough speech technology from lab to market, winning a CES Innovation Honoree award and securing first licensing deals with global hearing and audio brands. I also co-invented and commercialised NURVV, raising £5M and building the brand, investor and retail story. I’m AI-native in how I run marketing: faster research, content, creative iteration, sales enablement and campaign development with a leaner operating model. I bring brand and demand together — category narrative on one side, pipeline mechanics on the other. I write the Ideas Before Impact newsletter and am open to speaking, panels and conversations with people building bold B2B, AI, subscription, consumer tech and scale-up businesses.

Cape Verde recruited footballer through a LinkedIn DM. This is my favourite World Cup story so I saved it. I've saved this one til last partly because its the most extraordinary, partly because the learnings are relevant to everyone here on LinkedIn long after the World Cup is over, and because I just love it. 😍 A story ready made for Hollywood, Cape Verde looking for players, made contact with Roberto Lopes via LinkedIn. At the time, playing in the league of Ireland for Shamrock Rovers, the former mortgage adviser was approached by Cape Verde through the DMs. "We're looking at getting ne

Is this the best new football show since Fantasy Football League? 🤔 Netflix may have found a format built for the way football fans watch now. The Rest Is Football began as a podcast. Netflix turned it into something thats more like a daily football show: quick, current, funny and snackable. It appeared in Netflix's UK Top 10 every day during its 40-day World Cup run, peaking at number one. 🏆 Now it is coming back for the new Premier League season, with new episodes every Monday and Friday. The timing is fascinating. As under-18s face losing access to social media, streamers could bec

We all had broken hearts. 💔 Then Bellingham scored England’s 6th goal (yes 6th!!!) - and did something far more memorable. But today, some of those hearts were mended. It’s my birthday today and part of me had dreamed of watching England compete in a World Cup final. It wasn’t to be. Instead, we had the game no team dreams about playing: the third-place play-off. The bronze-medal match. Then England gave us something else. Pride. Togetherness. Belief. Then look at the sixth goal. Bellingham could have run towards the corner flag, arms out, taking the applause. He didn’t. He ran
