About Daniel
I am a dermatologist with a strong focus on healthy skin, evidence-based skincare, and skin cancer prevention. I have broad experience across different areas of clinical healthcare and dermatology. After obtaining my medical degree in 2010, I started my medical training in plastic and reconstructive surgery and general surgery at OLVG Hospital in Amsterdam. In 2012, I began my dermatology residency at the Department of Dermatology of the Academic Medical Center (AMC) in Amsterdam. In 2017, I completed my specialization in dermatology and successfully defended my PhD thesis on skin cancer. In 2020, I initiated Tenue Soleil, a purpose-driven, B Corp certified sun protection company based in Amsterdam, with a clear focus on skin cancer prevention and promoting a sun-safe culture for future generations. In 2025, we launched Skincare+, a dermatology-inspired skincare brand developed around high-quality, skin-friendly formulations, suitable for a wide range of skin types, including sensitive and compromised skin. I live in Amsterdam and value spending quality time with family and friends.

Waarom krijgen zoveel mensen juist op vakantie een koortslip? Met de zomervakantie in volle gang zien veel mensen onverwacht een koortslip ontstaan. Opvallend genoeg is blootstelling aan de zon juist een bekende aanleiding voor het opnieuw actief worden van het herpes simplex-virus.
