The roast
Alexander Theuma spent a decade building SaaStock just to realize the only way to pivot out of it was to launch Shift AI, a company name that doubles as a confession that he has absolutely no idea what to do next. He’s essentially a professional wedding planner for people who want to watch other people pretend to understand ChatGPT.
About Alexander
I started SaaStock in 2015 with a simple idea: give software founders a real space to connect, learn, and scale faster together.Ten years on, the world has changed. Software is being rebuilt from the ground up. AI isn't a feature anymore — it's the foundation.SaaStock ran its course. I learned what I needed to learn, took the hard lessons that come with building a media and events business through some genuinely difficult years, and chose to start again with clarity.Shift AI is that fresh start.Shift AI is the events and media company for B2B software founders navigating the AI transition. We run Shift Europe in Barcelona 13-14th and Shift USA will come next. Not just conferences, but the rooms where the people actually rebuilding software in the AI platform era come to think, connect, and move faster. We've also built a founder membership community for the Software Founders doing the hard work between events, and BackFuture Ventures: fund backing the next generation of B2B software companies. Before any of this, I spent 11 years in sales. Chasing targets, closing deals, learning what real GTM pressure feels like. That experience taught me one thing: there's no shortcut to growth. You need the right people around you, the willingness to evolve and the honesty to call the moment you're actually in.This is that moment.Today I'm focused on three things:Building Shift AI into the defining platform for B2B software founders in the AI era.Growing BackFuture Ventures as a fund that backs founders who are rebuilding, not just optimising.Using The AI Revolution Show to tell the real stories. The breakthroughs and the war stories from the frontlines of software's transformation.Software is being rebuilt. I'm here for the founders doing the rebuilding. If you're scaling and transforming a B2B software company, or investing in one, let's talk.

Most of the "AI for sales" tools being pitched to founders right now are the same old software with an AI sticker on the box. Adam Liska gave me a two-question test to catch them. He was on the DeepMind team behind what became Gemini, and just raised a 20 million dollar Series A for Airspeed, his own AI go-to-market company. He knows what real looks like, and what pretending looks like. The test is simple. Can an agent actually do the work inside the tool, or only sit there while a human clicks the buttons? And does the AI make real decisions at each step, or just run a sequence someone har

Last year Semir's website had around 11,000 visitors. This year it had over 100,000, and he built almost none of it by hand. We connected in a LinkedIn comment, then he screen-shared his entire business with me on a Zoom, and it felt like looking at the future. SalesMotion is two people. A real product, with paying customers, and no plans to hire. Here is what those two run by prompting, with no contractors and no marketing team: The website, rebuilt from scratch. The blog, auto-generated and then enriched with real customer calls so it sounds like them and never like filler. The help ce

I spent two days in Barcelona with a camera and a simple question for every founder/Investor I met. What's the thing about AI platform shift nobody's saying out loud? What came back wasn't polished. It was closer to confession. Everything we built, we have to rebuild. We're moving fast, I just don't know if it's the right direction. Half of these companies won't exist in two years. That's the honest state of building software right now, and almost nobody says it on stage. So we didn't make an event video. We made something closer to a trailer for the moment we're all standing in. This is
