The roast
Allison claims she’s an expert at navigating ambiguity, which explains why she’s currently running a multi-million dollar marketing department that only 194 people managed to notice last month. She calls it making magic at Lovepop, but at a 0.5 percent engagement rate, it’s closer to a disappearing act.
About Allison
People always ask me how I learned to thrive in ambiguity. Easy. Kids and startups. I bring over 18 years of experience in tech marketing. My coming of age years were spent at companies like Microsoft and Nuance {since acquired by Microsoft}. There I learned that marketing and revenue are inseparable {at least they should be} and started my journey as a forever Product Marketer. Over the course of my career, I've been responsible for investing $500M towards results, executing marketing programs in 80+ countries, and managing global marketing teams of up to 50+ people. My specialties? Crafting customer-centric positioning strategies to lay the foundation for all else, building marketing organizations that complement other revenue-driving functions {sales/product}, and leading with that perfect balance of skill + compassion. Today I'm focused on creating magic at Lovepop. Because I believe in analog, the tangible, and real moments. Follow along as I work to nurture an incredible team and give this brand all of the attention it deserves. Currently operating on Allison v9.0

I picked. I ate. For no other reason than because I wanted to. Maybe next time I’ll stop and smell the roses too.

Loss is, practically speaking, separating yourself. From the physical, emotional, and spiritual parts of something else. As I ride the waves of grief, I've been mourning parts of my mother that are inarguably gone. And yet also wrestling with parts of her that still live inside of me. One of my jobs as the "fiscally responsible" eldest daughter was to settle my mom's affairs. To do so, I had to sit with her and look at things she had been so afraid of. Numbers. In just two months, we worked through numbers that had given her decades of worry. And, through the process, I was forced to f

Not sure what you want to be when you grow up? Be more like Sue. My mom was a lot of things, but if I had to sum it up, I'd say she was resiliently insatiable. Literally nothing could slow her down. Not even cancer until her last few hours. Every time we met with our hospice team, they were shocked to hear what Sue had done that day. Attending soccer games. Wheeling around town. Going out for ice cream. Being rushed through a hail storm. Making the two-hour journey to camp. Having sleepovers with the grandkids. "Jumping" in the lake. Every excursion included a wheelchair and ox
