The roast
Maneesha bills herself as the bridge between behind-closed-doors decisions and the public, which is ironic for someone whose entire career at CartStars consists of hovering around a locked door and hoping someone inside remembers to unlock it for a photo op. She claims nobody buys their way into her community, yet her engagement stats suggest she is the only person still paying for the ticket.
About Maneesha
The people making the biggest decisions in retail and ecommerce are having their most valuable conversations behind closed doors. Getting those conversations out into the world, in a way that actually lands, is harder than it looks. Most brands struggle not because they lack ideas but because they lack the person who can take what lives in a room and make it mean something to the people outside of it. Someone who understands both the relationship and the message and knows that trust is built in the details, not the headlines. That is where I come in. I work at the intersection of communications, content strategy, and relationship management, currently at CartStars, a recommendation-only community of 450+ commerce executives. No one buys their way in. Communication done right doesn't just inform people, it moves them. CartStars is where the most important stories are being told right now, and where I want to be telling them.

I'm Head of Social at CartStars unless we're close (you get one-sided emails from me), then I'm the Yapper. And this thinking and breathing time is most welcome, so I thought I'd come here and yap as well, so you know that I can actually do this job I claim I'm doing instead of you finding barren land at the resort. This post took three days to write, which tracks, because overthinking is the brand. Thirty more years and I'd ha

Same outcome, better story 🤣 I always figured I'd go viral on LinkedIn for the wrong reasons..Then, never get hired anywhere ever again. Instead, I see this shockingly positive post, and somehow I'm still unhireable anywhere else because my boss told the entire internet my humor is an acquired taste and that you're not ready for me. All jokes aside, it's important to know that you can only build when someone trusts you enough to let you break things first. Everything the light touches is ours (RIP Mufasa 🦁 ) I've seen Lion King maybe a million times. I never once thought I'd be the o

You keep it to yourself. Because competition is what you're measured against. So you put your best self forward, treat every interaction like an interview, and guard yourself with polished answers. When everyone thinks that way, every industry dinner starts to sound the same. But Thursday night at Fig Tree, seven ecommerce leaders walked into a room of serious operators and found something closer to dinner with friends. People shared where they could be better at their jobs, where things could go wrong, and sometimes fixed each other's problems before dessert. Because at the end of the d
