🚨 Big change(s) coming to Google Tag Manager (web) 🚨 At Google Marketing Live (May 21st), GTM is getting its most significant update in years. Short version: Google Tag Manager containers will (finally) be Google Tags. This is significant on many different levels, but let's start with some clarifications: 1. 🚨Change coming to how Google Analytics and Google Ads interact (June 2026) 🚨 Google is striving to simplify how consent controls work between GA and Ads. Until now, Google Signals and Consent Mode both had a say in how advertising data (cookies, IDs) was collected and used when GA and Ads tags were linked. Starting June 15, 2026, GA data flow is controlled by Google Signals but Google Ads is handled exclusively by the ad_storage consent mode setting.
