The roast
Heidi describes herself as a GtM clarity obsessive, which is a poetic way of saying she’s a Global CMO who manages to post twice a month to an audience of three thousand people who have clearly forgotten she exists. SpinifexIT sounds like the sound a hard drive makes before it dies, and her career trajectory is clearly heading for the same hardware failure.
About Heidi
I’m a Global CMO who spends a lot of time in the messy middle of company growth. The place where product, sales, marketing, leadership, customer needs and revenue expectations all have to come together... and often don’t as neatly as everyone would like. That is where I do my best work. Turning complex products and unclear GTM motions into clearer messaging, stronger campaigns, better sales enablement and marketing that actually connects back to commercial outcomes. I care a lot about clarity because I’ve seen what happens without it. More activity. More content. More internal debate. More disconnected campaigns. More confusion. Clarity is not the "soft" stuff. It is what makes the work possible. Like most, Im also thinking a lot about how AI is changing our work.AI can totally help us move faster - help us draft, summarize, organize, analyze, and create more. But it most certainly does not replace judgment, creativity, communication or commercial thinking. And I think those are becoming more valuable than ever.

The most successful CMOs are elevating their roles from functional department heads to cross-functional business drivers. Here are three insights that resonated with me: 1. In

In coming years, 'CMO' will be rarer and marketing under CRO will be normal. A peer CEO told me this and we had a debate. No, we didn’t throw punches, but I feel this assumption is wrong. His logic makes sense on a spreadsheet. He looks at the corporate landscape, the rise of AI automation, and figures a CRO simply has a better handle on the math. The CRO sees which clients convert, how the costs line up, and where the budget needs to go. To him, shoving everything into one big revenue department just keeps things clean and under control. But I don't buy that at all. And I say this as a gu
