The roast
Cassandra works at a company called Phunware, which explains why her entire career strategy is just a series of events she refuses to invite anyone to. She calls herself a B2B storyteller, yet her LinkedIn presence is a silence so profound it’s practically a witness protection program.
About Cassandra
I was born in Sydney, Australia, but grew up in Texas, and somewhere along the way I found my home in the space between marketing and sales: the place where strategy turns into pipeline. For the past 10 years, that's been my job. Seven of those have been in enterprise SaaS, partnering with Fortune 500 brands to build marketing that actually moves the needle and that sales teams actually want to use. The problems I solve: Marketing and sales operating in silos, with misaligned goals and mounting frustrationDemand gen programs that generate activity but not pipelineSales teams stuck with content that doesn't convertCampaigns that take too long and personalization that doesn't scale What I bring: I speak both marketing and sales fluently, so I'm usually the translator in the room, turning "here's what marketing is doing" into "here's why sales should care," and back again. I've worn a lot of hats over the years (campaign manager, enablement lead, brand strategist, occasional therapist for reps having a rough quarter), and that range is my edge. I adapt fast, spot the gap nobody's covering, and find a way through. Lately, that also means bringing AI into the mix in practical ways: smarter content, faster campaigns, better personalization. Not AI for the sake of it. AI because it works. Outside of work, I'm usually mid-episode of Diary of a CEO, buried in a novel, or chasing down the best coffee in some hidden-gem Texas town. After seven years in marketing leadership, building demand gen and go-to-market strategy for a publicly traded SaaS company, I'm starting a new chapter as a Senior Account Executive with Kforce Inc in Austin. It might look like a pivot, but the core of the job hasn't changed: understanding what a business actually needs, building trust with the people who can solve it, and following through until the results show up. That's what marketing leadership demanded of me, and it's exactly what this next role asks for too. Austin is personal. I grew up here, and I've watched it become one of the cou

This is the marketing shift my generation has been living through in real time — and most brands still haven't caught up. I grew up watching consumer behavior evolve from TV ads → Google → social → and now AI-mediated discovery. As a millennial, I didn't just study these shifts. I was the target audience for all of them. That's given me a few instincts I bring to every marketing strategy: → Trust is built in the gaps between touchpoints, not at them → People (and AI systems) sniff out inauthenticity instantly → Community isn't a channel — it's the foundation everything else sits on → The br

The most important leadership decision I make every day happens before I open my laptop. I walk. 10,000 steps. Outside. Some days I put on a podcast. Some days music. But the days I get the most back? The days I just walk and listen. Birds, wind, the world around me doing its thing. There's something that happens when you stop filling the silence. Your nervous system settles. Your thoughts untangle. The solution you were forcing at your desk shows up somewhere around step 3,000 without you even trying. I've always believed that how you take care of yourself is directly connected to how yo
