The roast
Alex spent twelve years building Groove just to realize the only thing his customers actually wanted was to talk to an AI instead of him. Now he’s rebranding as Helply, the software equivalent of changing your name after a string of bad dates so people stop asking why you’re still single.
About Alex
🏗️ Built Groove from 0 → $5M ARR as a solo founder. 🔨 After 12 years, we’re rebuilding the company from scratch as Helply: an AI-native support platform for B2B teams. 🚀 The model is changing. The category is changing. Support is becoming outcome-based. ☠️ Grow or Die is my newsletter for 50K+ founders and operators navigating the shift to AI-first software. ⚡️ Sharing the rebuild in public in real time.

By the end of April, Uber had burned through their entire 2026 AI budget. They spent $3.4 billion on tokens in just 4 months, averaging $2,000 per engineer per month. Uber's COO admitted publicly that there's no link between AI spen

Your company has a number that drives most of its revenue. But you don't pay anyone directly to produce it? This is retention. Whatever you pay variable comp on is the job, regardless of the title or the strategy deck. So read your CS comp plan.. High base, small bonus, and tied to a retention target. It says: "Keep accounts from leaving.” That's a defensive posture for the function that's supposed to drive your growth. The AE plan says s
